How do I get to the Colosseum?

By underground
The B line takes you directly to the Colosseum station, located just a short walk from the Flavian Amphitheatre. The metro is the best way to get to the Colosseum, especially if you are coming from the outskirts of the city.
By bus
You can get to the Colosseum by bus: Lines 51, 75, 85, 87, 117, 118, the night line NMB, or tram 3 will take you close to the amphitheatre.

By car
It is possible to reach the Colosseum by car, although we do not recommend it as the area is very busy. There are paid parking lots near the Colosseum which can be reached from Via Fori Imperiali or Via Celio Vibenna.

From the airport
- From Fiumicino airport: the Leonardo Express train takes 32 minutes to Termini station, from where you can take the Metro B line to Colosseo (10 minutes). Alternatively, the Terravision shuttle bus will take you directly to Termini.
- From Ciampino airport: the shuttle bus is the most convenient way to reach Termini station. Alternatively, you can take the FL4 train to Termini and then the Metro B line to Colosseo
